admission to hear a person read a farce and sing a song)
with a motto inscribed in this manner----
Eloquence (the Soul-Song)
Charms the sense.

  Had Milton liv'd in these our days,
  Sure 'twould have raised his spleen;
  Such wretched mangling of the lays,
  For purposes so mean.
